New Cycle Parking Installed Today

A contractor employed by TVBC is installing new cycle stands on The Hundred, at Viney Avenue and at the entrance to the Memorial Park today – see drawings below . The new surfacing and cycle stands near the Memorial Park Café will be installed in w/c 8 January 2018.
A big thank you to Test Valley Borough Borough Council and Romsey Future for funding and arranging this.
The Hundred & Viney Ave Stores
The Viney Avenue rails work well in a limited space and must be fairly inexpensive to install. I understand from TVBC that the missing bolts were due to there being voids in the brick and difficulty avoiding the mortar. TVBC say a cycle parking sign will be installed on 18 December.
UPDATE 3 Dec 2017 - I have heard that the Viney Ave rails have been pulled out. I've let TVBC know and asked them to fix them.
Just one extra rack has been added to the Hundred racks just outside the Phoenix given the limited space. It looks well chosen to me. The litter bin has been moved to make room. This web site's home splash page photo is now out of date!
UPDATE 3 Dec 2017 - I have let TVBC know about the mess on the pavements around the new stand in The Hundred. They think it will probably just brush away, but will check on it soon.

Memorial Park
Two new Sheffield stands are now just within the entrance to the park. I chose to park against the railings as the concrete still looked wet!
