What We do with Your Suggestions
- We'll periodically ask you to vote for the ones you like most & then submit Community Infrastructure Levy bids for the most popular to Test Valley Borough Valley Council (TVBC) to fund improvements.
- We've shared suggestions via our maps with both TVBC & HCC so they can take them into account in planning.
- In 2020 we've teamed up with Romsey Future Walking & Cycling Worktream to capture suggestions in a new joint map . The are using this to create Community Infrastructure Fund bids for improvments to cycling and walking.

Improvements in Progress
Lee Lane Cycling Improvements
In May this year (2020) we submitted a Community Infrastructure Fund (CIL) bid to improve Lee Lane and the section of Station Rd connecting to Dairy Lane.
North Baddesley Botley Rd - Firgrove to Castle Lane
We were in the process of submitting a CIL bid for this in 2019 after it won our vote for the most preferred improvement scheme. However we learnt from TVBC that funding was already in place for the work. Changes in legislation meant that the design for the path needed to be widened and the last we heard was that the designs were being revisited to check this was feasible.
Southampton Road Cycle Path
We submitted a community Infrastructure Levy bid to fund making the path along Southampton Rd from the Rapids to Lee Lane into a proper cycle path. The bid was successful. The last update we received from TVBC indicated the path would be completed this year (2020). Click on the following buttons to read our news articles for more details.
Completed Improvements
Romsey Cycle Parking
Romsey Cycle Hub was created as a spin off from Romsey Future to engage with local cyclists about how best to spend a £5K TVBC award for improving cycle parking. New cycle racks were added at Romsey Memorial Park, The Hundred, Viney Ave Stores and Woodley Stores. In addition to these we've been involved with reviewing the new cycle parking in Bell St and Market Place, funded by housing development contributions.
